About Ben Brown

He Didn't Start This Business. His Marines Did.

Ben Brown served as a Field Artillery Cannoneer in the United States Marine Corps from 1988 to 1994. He deployed to the Gulf War as part of Operation Desert Storm — one of the Marines who went when called and came home carrying more than he left with, the way most combat veterans do.

What came next was the part nobody prepared him for.

For ten years after leaving the Corps, Ben fought the VA system on his own. No roadmap. No guide. No one in his corner who actually understood both sides of the equation — what it means to serve and what it takes to build a claim that gets approved. He figured it out through persistence, frustration, and a decade of learning what the VA actually responds to versus what most veterans assume will be enough.

By the time he had his own benefits sorted, he had something more valuable than a rating. He had a system.

135 Marines Changed Everything

Ben stayed connected to the men he served with. Over time, he started comparing notes with more than 135 of his fellow Marines from the Gulf War — men from his unit, men he'd kept in contact with for decades. What he found stopped him cold.

Nearly all of them had the same problems he'd had. Denials. Underpayments. Claims filed without a real strategy. Men who had served in combat, carried real injuries, and were either getting nothing or getting a fraction of what they qualified for. Some had been fighting the system for years and had nothing to show for it.

Ben didn't set out to build a business. He set out to help his Marines. He started walking them through the same process he'd spent ten years learning. The results spoke for themselves.

One Marine had only made it seven months — discharged during boot camp — and walked away with a 40% rating. Another went from 0% to 100% in six months. Veterans who had been stuck at 70% for years, convinced they'd hit their ceiling, broke through to 100%. Real Marines. Real results. People Ben had known for decades, people he could look in the eye.

That's when Veterans Claims Direct stopped being an idea and became a mission.

Where the EARNED Method Came From

After walking his fellow Marines through the claims process one by one, Ben noticed something. The same problems kept showing up. The same missing records. The same weak service connections. The same veterans who had filed once, gotten denied, and walked away believing they didn't qualify.

He also noticed the same solutions kept working — when applied in the right order, with the right support, by someone who stayed in the process with you instead of handing you a course and wishing you luck.

The EARNED Method is the system that came out of those conversations. Six steps. Direct access to Ben at every stage. Built on a decade of personal experience and proven across hundreds of veterans who had been stuck, denied, or simply never knew where to start.

It exists because 135 Marines needed help and Ben was the one who knew how to give it. Every veteran who goes through the EARNED Method today benefits from everything those Marines taught him about what works — and what the VA system actually responds to.

What Ben Brings That No One Else Does

Ben spent twenty years in sales and business after the Marines — building real companies, including Executive Transportation and Corporate Sales Success Training. He understands systems, people, and what it takes to build something that works at scale. That background shapes how VCD operates. This isn't a passion project run on good intentions. It's a structured, proven process built by someone who has run businesses and knows the difference between effort and results.

But the business background is secondary. What Ben brings first is the Marine mindset — the understanding of what it actually feels like to be a veteran who doesn't want to ask for help, who was trained to handle things himself, who feels like filing a claim is somehow admitting weakness. He lived that. He pushed through it. And he built VCD specifically for the veteran who is sitting where he once sat.

He's not a VSO. He's not a lawyer. He's not someone who studied the VA from the outside. He's a combat veteran who spent ten years learning the system from the inside out, then spent years proving that knowledge by helping over 135 of his own Marines collect what they earned.

Outside the Office

Ben has lived in Clearwater, Florida since 1996. He's a father of two — a 14-year-old and an 11-year-old — and he uses his own VA benefits to support his family every day. That matters to him. Not as a talking point, but as the reason this work is personal. Every veteran he helps is someone else's Ben Brown — a father, a husband, a person who gave something real and deserves to collect what was promised in return.

He shows up every day because 135 Marines needed help and he was the one who knew how to give it. He keeps showing up because there are thousands more just like them.
